To operate the disc-drum setup I could (with some minor modification) reuse the original single master cylinder. I have seen this system in operation but feel a modern dual master cylinder is in order. I chose one from a non-ABS TJ. (Fig.9). I plan to use the original through the floor clutch and brake pedal setup. I will need to fabricate a bracket to mount this master cylinder in place of the old unit. The easiest way to do this is to make a cardboard mock-up of the bracket and take it to the welder for fabrication.

The Wild Willys trail tub came back from the welder. I had some rust in the floor pan repaired. I also had some extra steel placed on the sides and strong side steps constructed. I put the tub in the in my sand blasting pit and went to work. Leaving the tub on a rolling frame made it easy to move around (Fig.9). Once I was done sand blasting the inside and outside I unbolted the tub and set it on its side so I could blast the bottom.

Once I got the tub clean I primed and undercoated the bottom. Then I set the tub on the Wild Willys frame. This will allow me to check fit and plan out the brackets for the brake cylinder and steering upgrades. In (Fig. 10) you can see the DJ steering column in place to help figure out the linkage with the new Saginaw box.
Stay tuned for the next installment.
