Adopt-An-Old Road Program

The Adopt-An-Old Road program is a voluntary agreement between a particular organization and town or State Officials. The adoption of an old road by a given organization requires that they provide the maintenance needed to sustain safe recreational use by the public.

Objectives Of The Program
  • Create cooperation between the user group and the Town or State Officials.
  • Allow the continued enjoyment of these old roads in the forests for years to come.
  • Unite responsible land management practices through the maintenance of these old roads and public education.

  • Removing logs and brush that encroach into old road.
  • Removing abandon vehicles from the area.
  • Removing litter and disposing it in the proper place.
